About the event
This will be a relaxed session; you don’t need be ‘arty’ or creative. The idea is to have fun, learn something new, and take home a piece of jewellery you will have made yourself using this wonderful process.
Session will start just after 10am
All materials are included, such as anodised aluminium in 8 x 8cm squares, anodising dyes, alcohol-based inks and pens, resists, stamps etc.
We will spend a couple of hours experimenting with the inks and pens mark making, stamping, and dipping the metal into the liquid anodising dyes. Pencils and paper will be available for sketching and working through idea and designs. We will then put all the samples into the steaming for 40 minutes to set the dyes ready for the next stage.
Lunch break – please bring a packed lunch. Tea, coffee and cold drinks will be provided.
When the metal has steamed, you will select a square you’d like to make into a piece of jewellery. The afternoon will be spent cutting, sanding, texturing, shaping etc.
Sterling silver jump rings will be provided, and sterling silver wire will be available to make one pair of ear wires per person.
Theres plenty of parking in my driveway and my workshop is in a converted double garage on the left side of my house (please use the door on the left).
